A family with two children wanted to rethink this classic apartment in Paris’s 5th arrondissement around three bedrooms, a generous and convivial dining room, and a spacious entrance hall with untapped potential. The challenge was also to make the most of a small kitchen overlooking the courtyard, while preserving a sense of flow and comfort throughout the apartment. The project needed to combine family life, natural light and functionality within a traditional Parisian setting.

The studio revealed the apartment’s dual-aspect character by maximizing natural light through generous openings and framed sightlines, structured by walnut surrounds incorporating a desk, storage and built-in seating. Walnut, glass and touches of stainless steel create an elegant common thread, punctuated by carefully placed accents of colour: a graphic green in the kitchen and primary suite, subtle pink tones in the furniture and bespoke details, and sky blue in the children’s bedrooms. Textured glass elements, particularly in the bathroom, further diffuse light throughout the heart of the project.
